Austin's First Year

Mommy put together a slide show of my first year, but it is still kind of a work in progress. Here is what she has so far! You may have to copy and paste it to your address bar.

Austin is One!

Today is your birthday sweet boy. It is so hard to believe that a year has gone by, and you have changed so much. Each day we love you more and more, and it is impossible to believe that this love could grow any bigger, but it just keeps growing. We are so proud of you, and we know that you are going to grow up to be a wonderful person, but we want you to stay little for a long time! You are so close to walking, and it stirs up mixed emotions. Yes, we want you to walk, but once you do that you won't need us as much anymore, so we don't know how to feel about that! You started out in this world 9 lbs. and 6 oz. and 21 1/2 inches long. Now you weigh about 26 pounds and are close to 31 inches tall! My how you have grown. Stay as sweet as you are, and always know just how much you are loved.
Love,
Mommy and Daddy

Me and Santa

Mommy and I were just shopping at the Galleria one day when we met this wonderful person named Santa. I had no problem sitting in his lap and telling him all the things I wanted for Christmas like ..... world peace, some balls to play with, a Harley of my own, some sweet potatoes, balls to play with, a new house, balls to play with, a bike, balls to play with, and many more...but I won't bore you with the details.

Tunnels are so much fun!

I got this tunnel for an early birthday present, and it is so much fun. I love to crawl under anything that I can fit under so this tunnel is perfect for me. It has windows that I can look out of to see my dogs looking in at me. Jack loves to run inside it with me. I just love to crawl from one end to the other, and back and forth, over and over! Tunnels are so much fun!

Gig 'Em Aggies!

On the day after Thanksgiving, Mommy and I watched a really great football game. I sat in a special chair and was wearing all my special clothes, and Mommy kept saying all these different yells for her team. The only one I could say was "Aaaaaaaaaaa" as I am doing here. We were really excited when her Aggies beat the Longhorns this year.

Vroom vroom!

Pops showed me all the important information I need to know to ride a Harley. Uncle Chris even turned his motorcyle on and I sat on it. Man, are those Harley's loud! I can definitely see myself on one sometime in my future.

Thanksgiving is Great!

Turkey, ham, and sweet potatoes....oh my! Pumpkin pie is to die for! Why can't I eat like this everyday? Yummmmmmmmy!

BIG BROTHER

That is right....I'm going to be a big brother. I totally understand "big", I mean everyone is always calling me big. But "brother", I have yet to figure out what that means. I am not sure I want to know, but I think it has something to do with why Mommy is acting so different lately. She says that as I have learned to go 70 miles an hour, she has to slow down and go 5 miles an hour. I guess I am hard to keep up with. I wonder what all this big brother stuff means. I guess I'll find out the first week in June!

Finger to Finger

You are the greatest.....no, you are the greatest....no you are......no you are! Let's just touch fingers and agree that we are both pretty great kids!

Sweet Fingers

Emma, you are so sweet, I bet even your fingers taste good! Let me try them.....

Emma and Me

Emma and I went to the mall to hang out for a little while. Here we are just strolling the indoors.

New York.....in Texas

Here I am with all my New York buddies in Texas. We went to eat at Matt's El Rancho in Austin. This is Jenny and her baby boy Will. I met Will for the first time this day. And also in the picture is Lisa and Emma. I loved seeing my friend Emma again! I took a special trip with just Mommy to go see Austin, Texas and hang out with Mommy's friends. We also went to the Salt Lick to eat BBQ. I didn't know it before, but I LOVE brisket. Yummy!

Paige, Me, and Lauren

These girls are two of Mommy's students from Pflugerville, Paige and Lauren. They are so pretty, and so sweet. Mommy says they are really smart students too.

Me and Denise

Here I am in Pflugerville, Texas at Mommy's old school. She used to teach there when she was pregnant with me. Denise is one of Mommy's friends. Mommy taught her daughter Paige, and she still keeps in touch with both of them, since they are so sweet. I am glad I got to meet them!

Mommy, me, and Aunt Jennifer

Here I am on the Continental divide with my Aunt Jennifer and Mommy. Brrrr!

The Continental Divide

I took a trip with Mommy and Daddy to Colorado for Daddy's cousin's wedding. Here I am on the Continental Divide. It was nice and warm when we left Denver, and you can see that it started to snow on us. I am used to the snow though, so no biggie there. I did get to see some big horn sheep crossing the road, and that was really neat!

Party Trick

Ok, so I have this new party trick to show you. I can carry toys around in my mouth while I crawl, and then I don't have to leave them behind. I learned this one from the dogs. You should try it, it really works.

Owen and Me

I love to hang out with my best buddy Owen. Here we are playing with the toys at my Mimi's house. He is the coolest kid, and bestest friend ever!

Happy Halloween!

For Halloween I was a bee. Mommy says I am as busy as a bee, but really, could I bee any cuter?

Happy Halloween

Here I am with Daddy in my Halloween costume.

Just a swingin'

I'm just a swingin' in the breeze....beneath the fall trees....Mommy watch your knees....push me higher please......enough already geez!

Balloons are great!

Oh...My....Gosh....I L-O-V-E BALLOONS!!! Every time Mommy takes me to Central Market, we get a balloon, and I am the happiest kid alive!

Chief Inspector Austin

Hi, Chief Inspector Austin here, just making sure all is right in the world. See, I could explain to you how all of this works, but it just might be too complicated for you. I'll just let you know that I checked all the safety stuff, and this toy is declared safe. You may resume playing.

Yep, everything's A Ok here!

Just making sure all the screws are in place, and everything is ready for optimal eating when I am sitting here. Everything looks good here. You can resume your everyday activities now.

Vroom Vroom!

Just driving my fire truck!

At Memorial Student Center

Here I am with "Aunt" Melanie in the MSC. There was a huge lightning storm, and no one could go to the game, so everyone had to crowd into the MSC and wait for the storm to pass. We did a little shopping while we were there, and picked up some Aggie gear for me.

Bonfire Memorial

Here I am with Mommy at the Bonfire Memorial. It was so moving to Mommy, it made her cry.

At Kyle Field before the game

Here I am with my "Aunt" Melanie, "Aunt" Lisa, and Mommy. We are outside of Kyle Field before the big football game starts. Whoop!!

BBQ at Texas A&M

Howdy Ags! That's what they say here in College Station. Mommy brought me to a BBQ at the university for her 10 year class reunion.

Another new toy

Mimi and Pops bought me this neat table. I recommend you get one if you don't have one. It has songs, buttons, music, spanish, and english, and did I mention songs? I love to dance and sing with it! It has definitely passed the "drool test."

Just cute!

Oh no you didn't!

Mommy, NOOOOOOO! Don't take a picture of me in my diaper! I know you are impressed that I am pulling up on all the furniture and cruising around it, but now is not the time! How would you like for me to take a picture of you in your underwear??? I didn't think so!

Rolly Polly

The funny thing about balls is that when you touch them, they move away from you, so you have to crawl after them....really fast.....and laugh a lot while you do it!

Cookie Monster

You may have seen Cookie Monster on Sesame Street. Well, I learned everything I know about eating cookies from him.

Rain, rain, go away!

Here I am with my dogs watching the rain out the window. Rain, rain, go away, come again another day!

Me, Mimi, and Princess Hope

Here I am with Princess Hope and Mimi on Hope's birthday. She really seems to like pink, and who knows who she is talking to on that phone!

Stairs, shmairs

I got this stair thing down. Stairs, shmairs.
